Students can be asked about their opinion on ideas or suggestions that might affect them. Student opinions should be ... referred to if changes are made to something that affects the students. - Paakhi
Students should be chosen to represent their classroom and go to a meeting to discuss and change rules with the principal. - Sam
Yes, having a suggestion box that the teachers bring to meetings (so they can) bring up
them. - Caden
Students should have a greater voice at school because this would help unrecognized problems become resolved. Students could hold a "student council" or "Debate Team" to help
get their opinions noticed.
- Monica
Students could run for class president, and that is who they could go to with ideas and improvement. We can have a comment box for students to write down their
concerns. - Aymen
I think students should have greater voice at school but not to change important things like what to learn or anything like that. I ean for the students to contribute more in the school environment. - Sarah
Yes, we should have a greater voice in the class so we can have debates in the
class room. - Jaxon
Maybe we could have a student assembly that would provide clubs and such but with an election every 2 months so new people could get on (involved). - Erin
I think we should be able to participate in decisions for our class that are pretty minor (not extremely important). A way we could do this is having mini-class meetings ... we have ways already like: G4G, clubs, assemblies, etc. - Ellie
Sometimes it's hard to speak out loud ... maybe a suggestion box where students can write their ideas, questions, concerns. - Zoey
Whoever wants to speak or give an opinion, they can just raise their hand. - Majid
I do think that students should have a voice in their classrooms and school because students should be able to share their opinions with others. I also think that people should not let others speak or share their opinions just because their's is different. - Rachel
Imagine everyone raising their hands all at once or everyone having greater understanding of what to do. My suggestion of trying to achieve this is to do less writing and more speaking in school. - Kowen
Students should have a voice by sharing their knowledge with the classroom and sharing ideas - I think student should have a greater voice but the students also need to respect the teachers, principal ... like by not shouting out loud and in interrupting. - Pardis
I think that as students at school we have a pretty good chance to express our voice. Most of our clubs at school are student run with teacher support and some of our events during the year are also student run. Most students know that if they have an idea that they want to make into a club at school or something else that they can just talk to their teacher or the principal. I think that Nellie is lucky we have the opportunity to run our own clubs and events and put so much into our learning. - Melissa
I think we should vote before we do optional things (i.e. capture the flag at FAB). - Wyatt
Yes, they should. It would look like lots of clubs and teams in our school. My suggestions are making more teams for the school and more clubs and fundraisers. - Oskar
I believe it is important that students should have a right to be part of the decision making in schools in older grades where in elementary I don't yet understand the reasoning of some decisions being made and haven't yet matured enough. - Noa
Yes, they could hand posters about their opinions and have votes
(e.g. vote on Field Trips). - Jay
I think no because if one student had a greater voice, he or she will be like a leader and I don't think everyone wants a leader to control them. - Lingnan
Students should have a voice like adults. We could have our own Mock Assemblies and then bring that idea to our principal so she can make those changes. - Alixa
Yes, students should voice their opinions and thoughts. It would be a student council with one voted representative from each class that would act as a MLA. - Zach
Have a time for everyone to talk and no one can pass. Have student work in groups to have a greater voice. (Also,) mix students with other students in the school. - Julia
I think students need a stronger voice because it can show that they have confidence and know what they want. - Noel
I think students should have a greater voice in schol but would still be guided by teachers. For example, students could choose what subject they learn first in each subject. - Herman
Hae a class meeting once a week, for students to share their thoughts and concerns, kind of like an assembly. Then the next meeting we could debate again then vote on it. - Sadie
I think that we could have a greater voice by having to state an issue and you could tell how you could solve it by writing it in a piece of paper. - Isabella
Students could have some sort of box so that students could write concerns or suggestions on paper and slip it into the box for the teacher in charge to read and review later. - Helen
In some cases it would be good for students to be able to share their voice like in Gym and non-core subjects. In core subjects, it would probably be better for teachers to make the main decisions. As far as sharing opinions, there could possible be a opportunity to propose ideas and then vote. - Jessica
Yes, so we can express more opinions and ideas. If we are having arguments, we can debate and vote, decide who is right in your opinion. - Cindy
I think it would be a good idea if we had a idea/opinion box in both classrooms. Students could write what they wanted to change when doing a certain project or how they think we could make learning better. They could write suggestions of games or new ways to spend FAB. Teachers could take just a little bit of time to read through the comments and think about ways to include these, even if they have to change (the ideas) a little. - Aurelia
